Christian George Julien Berge

February 12, 1940 — September 15, 2024

Christian George Julien Berge, 84, passed away after a courageous and valiant battle with cancer on Sunday, September 15, 2024, in Spring, Texas while surrounded by his family.

Christian was born on February 12, 1940, in Senlis, France to Renee Berge and Germaine Boivin.

He was a distinguished chef who received culinary training in his native France. He was a long-time employee of The Shreveport Club as Executive Chef and retired in 2002, after 30 years of service.

Christian is preceded in death by, his wife; Frances Boyte Berge, parents; Renee Berge and Germaine Boivin, brother; Patrick Berge, and wife Dominique.

His daughter survives him; Nathalie Newman and husband Harry Newman, grandchildren; Brandon and Brian Newman, brother; Philippe Berge and wife, Jacqueline.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 10 am to 11 am, with the Funeral Service beginning at 11 am. Interment following at Forest Park East Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Christopher Keeny.
