Cheryl Helene Quinn, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and orchestra teacher for Caddo Parish School District in Shreveport Louisiana passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019. She was 70 years old. As an expert in her field, she taught orchestra for over 50 years, with 25 years in Caddo. Prior to her work in Louisiana, Cheryl served as Strings Supervisor for Jackson Public School District, in cooperation with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra. While working as a strings teacher, and strings supervisor for Jackson Public School District, she established a strings program for Hinds County School District. Cheryl also worked as a professional musician providing accompaniment to many prominent musical groups. She took great pride in instilling a love of music in her students. Innately benevolent, she received her greatest joy doing for others, and identified her family as her ultimate source of happiness. Those who had the opportunity to meet Cheryl are truly blessed, as her positive spirit is contagious. Her glass was always half full. Her spirit lives on in the warmth of the sun caressing your face, the natural fragrance of sweetheart roses, and the delicate beauty of hummingbirds and butterflies as they traverse your path. She was born in Monroe Louisiana on July 12, 1948 to Howard and Helene Robinson. After losing her mother at a young age, she was raised by her maternal grandparents, Edgar and Jeanne Carsenot de Periguent Dupont. A native of France, Jeanne and Cheryl's inseparable bond foreshadowed the incredibly loving relationships that she would have with her children, as being a wife and mother brought Cheryl her greatest happiness. Survivors include her husband, Richard Anthony Quinn, two sons Michael Anthony Quinn and Richard Thomas Quinn, daughter, Cheri Quinn, brother Robert Robinson and his wife Linda Robinson, and their son, Brandon Robinson.
