Charleen Jennings

Charleen Pettus Jennings passed away peacefully after a brief illness on December 13, 2016 at the age of 88 years. She was born in Bonne Terre, Mo. to Alonzo ""Lon"" and Gladys Ruth Gunn Pettus. In her early twenties, she moved to Greenville, Miss. where she met her husband to be, Carl Scott ""Al"" Jennings. In 1963 she moved with her family to Shreveport, La. where she resided for the rest of her life. Charleen was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend whose lives she touched with her love, joy of life, and great spirit. Charleen was a cosmetologist and a successful saleswoman who received countless sales awards. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her two sisters Anna Lou Klimt of St. Charles, Mo. and Betty Sue Bailey of Greenville, Miss., half-brother; Olin T. ""Ted"" Pettus of Desloge, Mo., half-sisters Naomi Pettus Hughes of St. Louis Mo. and Marietta Smothers Tropp of Carrollton, Oh. She left behind to cherish her memory her daughter Carleen Jennings, of Shreveport; son and daughter-in-law Alan and Hartwell Harris Jennings of Baton Rouge; many loving nieces and nephews, and several dear friends including her best friend of 50 years, Faye Lisi.
