Casey Stokes

Casey Alden Stokes, 62, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday March 8, 2017. Casey was born March 10, 1954 to Dan and Sara Stokes. Casey grew up in Mansfield and graduated from Mansfield High School where he lettered in football, basketball, track, and played in the band. He attended SMU. Casey worked at Western Electric and then went onto work for the U.S. Postal Service for 26 years. He was preceded in death by his Father, Dan Stokes, and Grandparents: Harvey and Sara Cale Samuels, Daniel and Winona Stokes. Casey is survived by his wife Sandra, his mother Sara, sons Casey II., and Jeremy (Brooke), stepdaughter Brandi Normandin (Jesse), grandchildren Bailey and Landry Stokes, Zayden, Jesse, Latrell, and Kei'untre Normandin, sisters Sally Grigsby and Anne Lindsay Minninger (David), brother Shaw, sister-in-law Linda Migues, mother-in-law Shirley Arnold, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Services will be held at Forest Park Funeral Home 1201 Louisiana Ave., Shreveport, Louisiana 71101, on March 14, 2017. Guest will be received at 5pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 7pm. Reverend Kathy Fitzhugh of Mansfield's First United Methodist Church will be presiding. Special thanks to hospice nurse Mike Chelette for his care and compassion. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana.
