Brandon Bryan was not only my father, but he was also a friend, a role model, and a hard worker. He gave his time and affection to everyone else if that meant they were happy. He always wanted everyone to do better than he was no matter what he was going through. He was a great father to Draven Bryan and Dani James. He was a great son to Kathy and Greg Woodward. He loved the recovery group he was a part of. He loved working for the city of Shreveport and giving his time to friends and family. He loved watching movies and listening to music. He was not just a dad to me; he was a father figure to all of my friends. He had open doors for anyone that needed it. When I first started my job, he was very proud of the young man I had become. He couldn't have been more of a proud father. He was a very dedicated and hardworking man and would work his last breath to provide for me and for that I can only thank and love him.
It doesn't matter who you knew Brandon as, he was a father, a brother, a son, and a kindhearted honest man he gave his life to me and his last breath to see me succeed. -Draven Bryan
Brandon Bryan was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on January 8, 1981, to Kathy Woodward. At the age of 44 on July 23, 2025, the Lord called him home. Brandon was an avid chess and dominoes player. He was a cross-country champion at Parkway Highschool. Brandon was also a cancer survivor. He was not only a hardworking and dedicated man, but a loving and kind one as well. He’d give anyone the shirt off his back literally. Brandon loved his family, and he loved his kids, Dani and Draven, so fiercely. He was one of the proudest and most doting fathers you would ever meet. He always bragged about his children’s accomplishments. No matter how great or small, it was worth a celebration. He was also a wonderful uncle. His nephew Rowan was always so excited to see his Uncle B working in the garden. They were best buddies. Brandon was so full of love and had so much to give. Everyone who knew him knew they had a friend for life and loved him just as much in return.
Brandon is preceded in death by his grandparents Alma and Virgil Bryan. Also, by his former wife Lilly Bryan.
Left to celebrate his memory are his children Draven Bryan and Danielle James, his parents Kathy and Gregory Woodward, his sister Carmen Gardner and husband Colton, his nephews Gabriel and Rowan Gardner, his Aunt Maureen and Gene Johnston, along with his cousins Aaron Mayson and wife Paula and their child, Tre Saunders and wife Ainslee and their children, and Melissa Saunders and her children.
