A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Saturday, March 17th, 2018 at 10:00 am. The Memorial will be held at Summer Grove Baptist Church, 8924 Jewella Avenue, in Shreveport, with Pastor, Nathaniel Morris, Officiating. Mr. Bobby Gene Young, 66, went on to be with our Lord and savior, the evening of Friday, March 9, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Bobby, "Bud" as his mother addressed him, was born in Shreveport, unto Charlotte Young, on April 1, 1951, as a twin, along with a beautiful sister, Betty, and were raised in Stonewall, LA. He was an enterprising young man working in various fields to start earning a living on his own, in areas such as: Dairy Farming, Cleaning Barns, Mending Fences, and many other jobs in and around rural DeSoto Parish. On April 20, 1984 Bobby married, the love of his life: Miss Linda Davis---forever his: "Baby", as they referred to each other from that point forward. Soon, the ‘Young' couple started a family and moved to California, where Bobby took work in Maintenance. Upon his mother taking ill back in Louisiana, the family returned home, so that Bobby could oversee the care of his mother. Upon his return, he was hired at the location that he would loyally serve the remainder of his working career --- Property Maintenance at South Park Mall. This long and rewarding career continued until his retirement in 2015, even after, Summer Grove Baptist Church, purchased the property. Mr. Young used to love talking on his C.B. Radio, as he had them in both his house and his truck. But what he loved the most, was witnessing to others about his conviction of faith, and teaching others about his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as he was an ordained minister; spending time with his beloved Linda; loving his children; and spoiling his grandchildren. Mr. Young is survived by his adoring wife of 32 years, Linda Davis Young, a daughter, Claudette Young, two sons: Germany Davis, and Jarvis Young and wife Angela, along with numerous Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, cousins, along with extended family and friends. He will be dearly missed, until we see him again.
