John Robert ""Bobby"" Macheca, born August 20, 1944 in Shreveport, Louisiana, died at his home on the morning of May 15, 2018 at the age of 73. Bobby had dealt with a number of chronic illnesses over the past several years, primarily diabetes, Congestive Heart Failure, and COPD. Bobby greatly enjoyed time with friends and family, working around his home, and caring for his dog Shorty. Bobby was an avid flea-market and auction participant as both a buyer/ collector and seller. He also loved the outdoors, and in prior years before his health declined he had been an avid hunter and fisherman. Bobby had been retired for many years form Texas Eastern where he was involved in monitoring and controlling the flow of petroleum products within pipelines. In prior years he had served his beloved country as a Drill Sargent in the U.S. Army, serving in Homestead, Florida and in Fort Polk, Louisiana. Bobby also proudly served his community as a police officer on the Bossier City, Louisiana Police Department. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Ruth Machecha, and by his sister, Lily Frances Jordan. He is survived by his daughter Danielle Macheca, his grandson Cole Ryan McCartney, his brother-in-law Ted Jordan, nieces Brenda Truelove (Ray), Niki Arrambide (Steve), and Toni Crawford (Thomas), grandnieces and grandnephews, and many friends. Visitation will be Monday evening, May 21 from 6-8pm. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, May 22 at 10am with graveside service afterwards at Forest Park West Cemetery.
