Betty And Robert Stiles

March 22, 1942 — April 13, 2024

Betty Mae Stiles, 82, known as “Granny/Nanny”, was called to her Heavenly home on Saturday, April 13, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana at Willis-Knighton North following a lengthy illness. She has forever joined her beloved husband, Robert L. Stiles, 83, known to all as “PapPap”, who passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023. Granny was born on March 22, 1942, in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Woodrow Wilson Strange, Sr. and Elma Lee Whitt Strange Harrison. PapPap was born on February 9, 1940, in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Alonzo Stiles and Willie Beatrice Turner Stiles Glasgow.


Betty and Robert were preceded in passing by their parents; three brothers: Woodrow Wilson Strange, Jr., Howard Earl Rose, and Samuel Stiles; daughter, Alice Brandy Bates.


Left to cherish their beautiful memories of Granny/Nanny and PapPap will be their four daughters: Debra Evans and husband Mike, Cindy Kappelman and husband David, Angeline Mitchell and husband Lt. Commander James Mitchell, Kimberly Daniele and husband Jeff; twelve grandchildren: Sabrina, Phillip, Savana, Brittany, Austin, Ariel, Madison, Brianne, Bobby “Robert”, Maelynn, James, Marisa; four great-grandchildren; two sisters: Cherry Cleveland and husband Daniel, Martha Rennie; one brother, Donald Glasgow; many nieces, nephews, along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.


Granny/Nanny loved tending to her family, always making sure they were taken care of and fed. She loved cooking from scratch, having the family over and fellowshipping. PapPap was a dedicated trucker since the 1960’s and loved providing for his family.


They found joy in spending time with their family and tending to their loved ones. PapPap enjoyed growing anything he could, and spending quality time with his girls. Granny/Nanny and PapPap were known for their strength and willingness to always help anyone in need. They were devoted to their family. They loved their four daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren unconditionally.


The family will be receiving guests for visitation at 12:00 PM until the Celebration of Life service honoring Betty and Robert at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 20,2024, in the chapel of Forest Park Funeral Home, 1201 Louisiana Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana 71101 with Bro. Clay Fuqua and Bro. Andrew Orr officiating.


Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Forest Park West, 4000 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71109.


Honoring Betty and Robert as pallbearers will be Austin Evans, Mike Evans, Jeff Howells, Dustin McKnight, Bobby Mitchell, Jeff Bardett, David Kappelman and Phillip Kappelman.


Memorials may be made in honor of Granny/Nanny and PapPap to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org; or the Shriners Childrens Hospital, http://www.shrinerschildrens.org.


The family would like to extend their upmost gratitude to everyone during this difficult time for all the condolences, prayers, and compassion expressed.
