Barbara Ann Brooks

Barbara 'Andy' Brooks, 84, a former retired nurse, died in Shreveport on November 6, 2021. She was born on June 13, 1937, in McKeesport, PA, to Carlos Anderson and Georgia Williams. Barbara lived in many beautiful cities including Los Angeles, CA; Long Island, NY; St. Louis, MO; Hilo, HI; Chinle, AZ; and Natchitoches, LA. She attended Allegheny General Nursing School and the University of Hawaii. Barbara was a dedicated member of the Master Gardener Association of Natchitoches Parish. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters: Joy Mae McIntyre, Shirley Dean Strangis, and Margaret Louise Butler. She is survived by her children, Bill Brooks, Alesia Brooks, and Tara Brooks; grandchildren, Cari, Dylan, and Honey; and her brother, Don Sherry. Also missing her are great-grandchildren, Hunter, Avery, and Parker; 6 nieces; 2 nephews; special friend and neighbor, Denice; and her honorary grandchildren, Charlie and Samantha.
