Allen ""Butch"" Owen Of Shreveport, La

Allen (Butch) Owen, age 70 left us on January 9, 2014, to be with the Lord Jesus. He was born January 9, 1944 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Bill and Carrie Cason Owen. The Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Community UMC, 9400 Ellerbe Rd. in Shreveport on January 14, 2014 at 6pm. Family will be receiving friends on Sunday the 12th from 2pm-4pm at the church. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and the love of his life, wife and friend, Ruby Ann Owen. He is survived by sister, Pat McBride; brother, Randy Owen; children, Tina Smith, Mike Owen, Tammy Owen, and Tommy Owen; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. His passions were family, wood carving, and most of all, his relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. He retired as a contractor and used his gift to allow the Gospel story to be told through his wood carving. Helping those less fortunate was important to Butch; even building a home, with the help of his church, for an elderly woman Hosston. He lived a life of service and will truly be missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Community UMC for ""creative ministries"" to allow his creative style of storytelling to continue to grow.
