Al was born in Corpus Christi, TX, the only child of Albert and Jimmerta Arnold. Early education was received in several small town schools and he earned his college degree at the University of Houston after completing a 4-year tour of duty in the Air Force. Employment with United Gas brought Al to Shreveport, where in the '60s he was able to fulfill a life long dream of self-employment as a designer and illustrator. Father, grandfather, great grandfather and loyal friend describes his many happy roles in life but the most beloved was husband to his wife of 64 years. He is survived by his wife, Wilda, their son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Annie Arnold, daughter, Amy Swint, grandchildren, Matt Reed (wife Meghan), Brianna Arnold, Anika Arnold, great grandchildren, Kyleigh, Kaleb and Sunny Reed. Al is also survived by his Aunt Charity in Texas and sister-in-law, Reba Herring of Shreveport as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Al's faith in our Lord guided him in his daily walk. His ability to find the good in anyone led him to friendships with many extraordinary people which made his life richer. Al's family is so grateful to all those who shared this bond with him.
