Johnny Ray Elkins

Johnny Ray “Goofball” Elkins, age 81, a retired truck driver, has died on January 9, 2023, in Stonewall, LA.

Johnny was born on September 20, 1941, in Minden, LA, to James and Maudie Elkins. He spent most of his life living in Stonewall, and he attended Sarepta School. Johnny had a love for spending time watching Western films and TV shows.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Maudie & James Elkins; his siblings, Dianne Elkins, Clyde Elkins, and Edward Elkins; and his special dog, Lucky.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Gloma Elkins; children, Debra Elkins (Rex) Morvan, Anita Elkins (Ed) Thomason, Janet Elkins (David) Young, and Jeremy (Chelsea Behrend) Elkins; his grandchildren, Kacee Morvan Dawson, Kyle (Krystal) Morvan, Kristin Ryland, Daniel (Jennifer) Ryland, Hannah Elkins, Colton Elkins, Zach Elkins, Aiden Ray, and Adalynn Ray; his great-grandchildren, Brianna Ethridge, Paisley Ethridge, Gunner Ethridge, Shani Morvan (Gavin) Allen, Corey (Arial) Morvan, Brandon Dawson, Katie-Grace Dawson, Logan Ryland, Laniey Ryland, Walker Elkins, Ricky Burt, and Drason Burt; great-great grandchildren, Wesley and Evie Allen; and special dog, Axle.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Johnny’s honor on Tuesday, January 17, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM, at Forest Park Funeral Home, 1201 Louisiana Ave. Shreveport, LA 71101.
